Documents

A proper home for your club's documents.

Store every file, write your handbooks, and decide exactly who can see what. Because it's part of Range Mate, access follows membership. When someone leaves, their access goes with them. One less subscription to pay for, and no ex-members left in your shared folder.

More than file storage

Not just a folder. A document library built for a club.

Everything your club needs to keep, in one tidy place your members already log into. Here's the sort of thing clubs keep in it.

Constitution Club rules Range standing orders Risk assessments Committee minutes Induction packs Insurance certificates NRA paperwork Competition results Newsletters Meeting agendas Range photos
Permissions

Access that follows membership, automatically.

This is the part a shared Drive folder can't do. Range Mate already knows who's a member, so your documents do too.

  • Set access folder by folder, by membership type or committee role
  • New members see club documents the moment they join
  • When a membership ends, access ends with it. No links to revoke
  • A private area for officers that ordinary members never see

You choose who can view and who can edit, and every change is logged so you can see who did what.

Range Standing Orders

Every member must read and follow these before shooting. They apply to all disciplines, on every range.

  • Eye and ear protection on the firing point at all times
  • Firearms stay cased until you reach your lane
  • Follow the range officer's commands without exception
Treat every firearm as loaded, always.
Living documents

Write your handbook where members will actually find it.

Some documents change all the time: the handbook, the range rules, the joining guide. Write those straight into Range Mate with a clean block editor, so there's one current version and no stray copies floating about.

  • Build pages from blocks: headings, lists, images and callouts
  • Drag blocks to reorder, the way modern editors work
  • Always the latest version, never a "final_v3" in someone's inbox
  • Point members straight to the rules they need to read
Files & organisation

Drag, drop, and arrange it how you like.

Upload anything from a quick photo to a stack of PDFs. Sort into folders, reorder with a drag, and let images preview properly instead of downloading blind.

  • Drag and drop uploads, several files at once
  • Folders, sorting and drag-to-reorder
  • Image previews and galleries, not just filenames
  • Find things fast, on any device, at the range or at home

Honest comparison

How it compares to a shared Drive folder.

Cloud storage is good at holding files. It just doesn't know anything about your club. That's the difference that matters.

To be fair, a cloud drive gives you more raw storage and desktop syncing. For a club's shared documents though, knowing who's a member matters more than gigabytes.

Your documents stay yours.

Everything you store is yours to download whenever you like. If you ever leave Range Mate, we'll help you take all of it with you. No lock-in, the same as the rest of the platform.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

It's included with Range Mate at no extra cost, within fair usage. For the vast majority of clubs that means you'll never think about limits. If a club is storing far more than normal club use we'll have a friendly word rather than spring a charge on you.
For your club's shared documents, yes, and for most clubs that's the whole job. Rules, risk assessments, minutes, induction packs and range photos, all in one place your members already log into. It isn't trying to be a personal cloud drive for your whole life. It's the club's filing cabinet, kept where the club lives.
It's removed automatically. Because the library is part of Range Mate, access follows membership. When someone resigns, lapses or is removed, they lose access to club documents the moment their membership ends. No shared links to chase, no folders to tidy, and nothing left open to someone who's no longer a member.
Yes. You set access folder by folder. Keep the constitution and range rules open to all members, lock committee minutes to the committee, and keep a private area for officers. You decide who can view, and who can add or edit, by membership type or role.
That's up to you. By default the committee curates the library, but you can let members contribute to particular folders if you want, for example a gallery of competition photos. Permissions are set per folder, so you stay in control.
The everyday things a club shares: PDFs, Word documents, spreadsheets, images and more. Fair usage applies rather than a hard wall, so normal club use is comfortably covered. If you're planning to upload something unusually large, drop us a line first and we'll let you know where you stand.
Both. Alongside uploaded files you can write proper documents in a block editor, the same way you'd build a page in a modern editor. It's ideal for the living documents a club rewrites often: the handbook, range rules, joining guides and committee notes. They stay tidy, easy to edit, and always the current version.
Of course. They're your documents. You can download them whenever you like, and if you ever move on we'll help you export the lot. No lock-in has always been the deal.
